Proposed Closure of Pilsley Surgery - Parish Council Working Group
The Parish Council has established a working group to consider its response to Staffa Health's proposal to close Pilsley surgery.
The working group will meet on Thursday 11th July at 6.15pm at the sports pavilion on Pilsley Sports Ground.
Members of the public are most welcome to attend.

Proposed Closure of Pilsley Surgery
The Parish council was shocked and saddened to learn of Staffa Health's proposal to close Pilsley doctors' surgery.
Staffa Health will begin a consultation process commencing on 24th June and ending on 23rd august.
All Pilsley surgery patients will receive a letter setting out the reasons for the proposals together with a questionnaire seeking views on their proposals.

North East Derbyshire District Council - How About Some Consultation?
In our last newsletter we reported that we had contacted North East Derbyshire District Council during 2018 to register our concern about the car parking problems on Queensway and Padley Wood Road and had requested that off road parking areas be provided on some of the land available in these areas.

Local Elections 2019
Public Notices have been published of the persons nominated for election both to the Pilsley Parish Council and to the Pilsley and Morton Ward of North east Derbyshire District Council.
The elections will take place on 2nd May 2019.

Sports Pavilion Open Day
On Saturday 13th April 2019 members of the public will have the opportunity to have a look around Pilsley's new sports pavilion when it will be open for inspection between 10.30am to 12.30pm.
The Parish Council and Pilsley Sports Association, which has been established to run the pavilion, hope that as many members of the public as possible will take the chance to see it.

The 'Commercial' - Plans Still On
The planning application submitted by the owners of the Commercial Inn for it to be demolished and a care home built on the site was recently refused by the Local Planning Authority.
Following this it was rumoured that the property had been sold to a local property developer who planned to build houses on it.

Sports Pavilion – Soon Up and Running
Our new sports pavilion is less than two weeks away from being completed and handed over to the Parish Council.
As well as the usual facilities to be found in a sports pavilion such as changing rooms, showers, kitchen etc. the building has a large clubroom which might be useful for other clubs and organisations from the village for meetings/functions etc. and which will be available for hire. Cyril Leason & The Hardwick Road Race
On Saturday 23rd March at 10.00 am Pilsley will honour Cyril Leason, one of its favourite sons, when a plaque which marks his outstanding achievement in organising the Hardwick Hall Road Race from 1981 to 2013 will be unveiled.
The unveiling ceremony will take place in the Five Pits Trail car park on Hardstoft Road which has been chosen by Cyril as it adjoins the site of his former home.
